Specified Skilled Workers (SSW)
Specified Skilled Workers (SSW) is a visa status/stay permit for foreign nationals in Japan which came into effect on April 1 2019. A new immigration policy from the Japanese Government which offers a golden opportunity for foreign workers to work in Japan with the same rights and obligations as Japanese workers.

The SSW program consists of two visa categories, namely:
- 1. SSW type (I):
- Residence permit for 5 years.
- Cannot bring family members.
- Can move to work in the same field.
- Pass the intermediate language and skills competency exam.
- 2. SSW tipe (II):
- Stay permit that can continue to be extended while still working.
- Can bring close family members.
- Can move to work in the same field.
- Pass the expert level competency exam from Designated Skill level 1.
- Participants will receive salaries equivalent to Japanese workers.
- Get the same rights as Japanese workers, including benefits and leave.
- Participants receive Japanese language education to prepare them for work in Japan.
- Participants receive various assistance from the company while working.
- Employment insurance can be revoked after the employment period ends.
- A decent and comfortable apartment or residence is provided.
- The SSW visa is a work visa, not an internship visa.
- Participants can change companies as long as they are still in the same field of work.
- After completing SSW stage 1 and passing the stage 2 test, participants can bring their close family.
- Male/Female, aged 18 - 35 years.
- Minimum height 165 cm (men) and 155 cm (women).
- Physically and mentally healthy.
- Not color blind.
- Not pierced (Men).
- Not tattooed.

- Skills Test (occupational skills test)
- Interview Test with a Japanese company
- Administrative processing (visa, passport, etc.)
